The Pendant (aka Wolfhound) is now entered into the NIFF screenwriting completion for 2016.

Here's the Logline and Synopsis:

Logline: After he and his family are taken hostage by a band of murdering home invaders, a college student discovers that the key to their survival lies in a pendant he received on his tenth birthday.

Synopsis:
On his tenth birthday Chance Keller, Jr. an only child and a fan of classic monster movies, received a pendant bearing the crest and motto of his fathers army unit- the Wolfhounds. It was a gift which Chance cherished for no other reason than it came from his father, a man of fierce devotion to God, his country, and his family. But the pendant was more than just a piece of metal for there was dark power in the inscription it bore, We are Wolfhound.

Then, twelve years later, just before Thanksgiving during Chances junior year of college, Chance, Sr. is killed in Afghanistan and the loss drives Chance Jr. to disavow the Almighty and shun the God his father so strongly believed in.

A year later, while home for Thanksgiving, Chance's home is invaded by a gang of murderous thieves and all those whom Chance loves are in peril of losing their lives. Helpless to save his family from certain death, Chance finally learns the lesson of the pendant and reconciles with the Almighty. And in return for his life of faith the deceased Chance Sr. is called from the grave as a man-sized, bone-crushing, version of his unit's mascot- the Wolfhound to save his family from certain death.

But the monster is not indestructible and Chance Jr. must race against time to save the hapless creature by returning it to the grave from whence it came before sun up or else his fathers soul will be lost to an eternity in Hell.

The long-fanged, fur-coated wrath of God arrives

INT: THE KELLER HOUSE - NIGHT

POUNDING. CLAWING. SNATCHING. Kenny goes to the door and opens it. Pete, blood splattered, falls in and crawls around the floor.

                to get outta here!

                                    ARNIE
                    (shouting)
                What the fuck happened? Where’s
                Carl?

Pete crawls along the floor to the sofa. He begins untying Chance.

PETE
                    (panicked)
Never should have come here. Gotta
let these people go. Gotta get outta –

Arnie rushes to him and pistol whips him. Pete falls to the floor. Kenny rushes to Arnie and prevents the next strike. Arnie strikes Kenny with the pistol. He drops to the floor beside Pete and cradles him.

ARNIE
                    (screaming)
Calm down! What the hell is the
matter with you? WHERE - IS - CARL?

Pete curls into a ball next to Kenny and begins to whimper.

PETE

We Are Wolfhound entered into The Search for New Blood Screenwriting Contest

About the contest: FADE IN: Dark. Twisted. Scary. Creepy. Suspenseful. Psychological mindf***. Bring it. We want it. Stage 32 is already shaking up the industry, so we’ll keep going with this explosive announcement: Stage 32, the Stage 32 Happy Writers, and Literary Manager Kailey Marsh, Founder of The Blood List, have partnered to look for the darkest, scary, creepy, suspenseful, mind-boggling, most twisted scripts from undiscovered writers from all over the world in the first ever Search for New Blood Screenwriting Contest. Every year on Halloween, The Blood List is released by Kailey Marsh, highlighting the top 13 screenwriters of unproduced dark genre scripts, which is shared with over 100 managers, agents and production companies in Hollywood. The Blood List is also featured on such sites as Variety, The Hollywood Reporter, Deadline Hollywood, and The Wrap instantly placing the writers of these scripts in the spotlight. This year, we are searching for NEW blood. We are looking for the top 3 unrepresented horror/suspense/thriller writers that come from Stage 32. That means you. Kailey will be releasing our top 3 winners on The Blood List under a designated section: NEW BLOOD. If you make the top 3 of The Search for New Blood Screenwriting Contest, you and your material will be exposed to the same list of industry executives. Holy s*** is right. But wait, there’s more. Sure, everyone wants cool prizes, and we have ‘em (check out the Prizes tab above), but we know the most important reason you enter a contest is for exposure and opportunity. You want to speak with the decision makers, the people who have the potential to move the needle on your career. Our Grand Prize Winner and 2 other finalists will be presented with that experience.
